Here is the Background for this Event:
Every Spring, our team provides
members our North Shore community with the unique opportunity
to purchase high quality spring foliage for garden and home at
a better-than-competitive price! Formerly known as the
"Blue Dukes Hockey Plant Sale", the WNS Plant sale is
anticipated by many as a primary source for spring plantings!
WNS Hockey (which represents
Whitefish Bay, Nicolet, Shorewood, and Brown Deer High Schools), like all
other public high school hockey teams in our area, operates on
a self-sufficient basis. Although we receive substantial
logistical support from the high schools, as well as
assistance from the booster clubs, the lion's share of our
operating expenses, including ice time, are borne by the team,
itself. The primary sources for this revenue are
players' dues and fund raisers, like the Plant Sale.
