Professional Tooth Whitening at Home

If you are a candidate for tooth whitening, we offer you a choice between in-office whitening and take home whitening trays.  For those who prefer to apply their professional level whitening gels themselves, we offer two choices of gels to work with the custom whitening trays that we make for you.

The process of lightening the shade of your teeth using peroxide gels has been practiced since at least the 1970's.  The treatment is successful because of the gentle oxygenating nature of hydrogen peroxide (NOT to be confused with "bleach", which refers to the caustic agent, sodium hypochloride.  Tooth whitening with peroxide gels is totally unrelated to the process of "bleaching").   The peroxide gel that we use gently penetrates the enamel and "breaks up" the decades of deposits lodged deep in your tooth structure.  It then dissolves these contaminants and carries them away.  Although the gel is not harmful to your gum tissues (it's actually used in the treatment of some types of gum disease), it can be irritating and can cause temporary inflammation.  Also, people whose teeth are sensitive may find some whitening programs to be slightly uncomfortable.  We have designed two customized home whitening programs to match maximum whitening with your comfort and convenience.  These plans are listed further below, as well as being noted in the sidebar to your right....

To greatly enhance the effectiveness of your whitening gel, we provide you with precision made "trays" that fit only you, and apply the gel to only your teeth and not your gum tissues.  This is also, in the long run, more economical;   since you use far less gel per treatment than those over-the-counter "boil-and-bite" boxing guard type of trays.  Furthermore, your precision custom trays create the opportunity to use the stronger gel, so that your time and treatment are significantly lessened.  Finally, over-the-counter whitening products rob you of the opportunity to avail yourself to the professional, in-office fine tuning of your treatment to provide maximum effectiveness, while assuring your comfort and peace of mind.

Whatever type of care we offer to you, our goal is to provide you with the most gentle, yet effective, treatment appropriate for your unique situation.  In light of this philosophy, we offer these treatment sequences for supervised home tooth whitening:

  • High Strength Whitening:  for people with no tooth sensitivity tendencies we provide "Nite White" gel.

  • Moderate Strength Whitening:  for those whose teeth can be slightly sensitive at times we provide "Day White 2" gel.

  • Combination Whitening and Fortifying:  for individuals whose teeth are sensitive, but still desire the advantages of whitening.

If your teeth currently are not in need of major dental work, but have gradually accumulated stain over the last decade or two, then there's a good chance that tooth whitening is something you should consider.

The custom whitening tray that we make for you looks just like this Invisalign tray.

The Nite White Excel2 gel is the fastest at-home whitening agent.  It is a thick gel that you wear overnight in the custom tray that we make for you.

The Day White 2 gel is a two component tooth whitening system.  A dual chamber syringe automatically mixes the gel for immediate application at time of use.  Day White is a mild solution containing a unique blend of natural soothers, conditioners and flavor enhancers.  As such, it is the preferred agent for those with sensitive teeth.
