Laser surgery can sound exotic in advertisements, but it is really just a basic element of site-specific quality dental care.

We occasionally use our laser unit for minor contouring of gum tissues as part of preparing teeth for crowns.

The most frequent incident of use of this technology is when you have a big, bulky silver filling on a back tooth that needs to be removed and replaced with a crown. Typically, the gum tissues are in a state of chronic inflammation from the overly bulky silver filling. If this is the case, we can easily, and comfortably, microscopically laser the inflamed tissue between the teeth so that your new crown is placed in an environment of healthy tissue.

So, this is what laser does. It is not all that exotic, but it works really well in specific situations.
