Replacement of Your Back Teeth with Implants

Before the introduction of implants, missing back teeth had to be replaced by either fixed bridgework cemented onto the teeth, or partial dentures;   which clip onto the teeth, and exert pressure on the gum tissues as well as trapping food particles.  In fact, before implants, there was virtually no way you could avoid having a partial if your were unfortunate enough to not have any surviving back teeth on one or both sides of your upper or lower jaw.

Implant care solves these problems by providing you with natural, fixed replacement teeth;  eliminating the need for a partial denture and sparing neighboring teeth from being "ground down" to receive bridge anchor crowns.

In our office, this is the type of implant care we find ourselves providing most frequently.  Our patients report a major improvement in comfort, convenience, and "chew-ability";  especially those who used to have clip-on partial dentures.

If you're interested in looking in to your possibilities for replacing your back teeth, feel free to give us a call for your consultation.  As always, if you are able to bring your own X-Rays, initial consultation is complimentary.  If you do need us to take X-Rays for you, we will take as few as possible in order to provide you with an informed recommendation for your implant care.

When replacing back teeth, wider implants are usually placed utilizing the same gentle surgical techniques.

Once the implants have integrated (bonded) to your bone tissue, connectors, or "abutments" are attached to the implants, and your final bridgework is attached.

Your final reconstruction gives you new, natural teeth that feel as solid as your own.
