Cosmetic Dentistry: Our Role in Orthodontic Therapy (Braces)

Even though modification of teeth with bonding, veneers, or crowns is always an alternative, we have consistently believed that the more natural approach of enhancing your smile with orthodontic therapy should always be considered first, when applicable.  In this regard, we embrace an orthodontic / prosthodontic team approach to your cosmetic care.  In other words, we feel it is of substantial benefit to you that any and all of your cosmetic concerns are addressed by a team approach that involves our close collaboration with your orthodontist.  Dr. Hart has always believed that the natural movement of your teeth has preference over their physical modification.  This philosophy of a comprehensive, team oriented approach has been substantially enhanced by the introduction of the Invisalign orthodontic system.

Just as advanced computer scanning, analysis, and machining technologies have revolutionized the pure ceramic crowns that we provide, similar processes have been making significant contributions to the field of orthodontics.

Align Technology, Inc. of Santa Clara, California, has developed a revolutionary new way to straighten teeth without braces. Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, the Invisalign system carefully translates your orthodontist's instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners.  These aligners look just like tooth whitening trays, only they are clearer and a bit more firm.  You then wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks as they gradually (and gently) move your teeth, week-by-week, millimeter-by-millimeter;  until you've achieved the intended result:  straighter teeth.  Generally, you visit your orthodontist no more than you would with braces, and the length of treatment is about the same.

If you're interested in looking in to your possibilities for a team approach to your cosmetic dentistry concerns,  please give us a call and avail yourself to our complimentary consultation policy.  To review the details regarding this service, simply return to the "cosmetic" menu and click on the "free consult" button.

Alternatively, you can explore the possibility of invisible braces directly with an orthodontist.  The expert that we recommend is Dr. Randall C. Moles;  who has definitely had the most invisalign experience in Southeast Wisconsin.  Also,  Dr. Hart and Dr. Moles have been involved in orthodontic / prosthodontic team approach care since 1979.

The "invisalign" system, by Align Technology, represents an absolute revolution in the field of orthodontics, and thus, cosmetic dentistry.

This woman is wearing invisalign aligners.  The most natural cosmetic dentistry treatment you can have involves the gentle, nearly invisible movement of your teeth to optimal, or near optimal positions.  Dr. Hart works with your orthodontist to plan your coordinated plan to reduce, or even eliminate, the need for any caps or crowns.  If caps or crowns are needed, their proportionality and esthetics are substantially enhanced by your pre-prosthetic orthodontics.
